Newcastle Prepare to Break Club Record to Bring Hoffenheim Striker

Having broken their 14-year-old transfer record by bringing Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron back in January, it looks as if the Magpies are prepared to crush it all over again this summer.

According to various reports coming from European papers, Newcastle United have struck an agreement with Hoffenheim over the Brazilian striker Joelinton.

The Brazilian bagged 10 goals for the Bundesliga outfit this season and is being linked with a move away from Hoffenheim worth £51 million.

The proposed move to bring Joelinton to England could be worth more than a double than the £21 million Magpies paid to bring Almiron this winter.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has been notoriously reluctant to invest transfer funds into his clubs and news of Magpies potentially breaking the record twice in the same year are quite surprising.
