Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun is a man in high demand and has been linked with moves to various clubs, including both Manchester United and Juventus. However the club that seems most intent on bringing in the Turkish international is Newcastle United, who are reportedly preparing a £20m bid, according to TurkishFootball.com.

The news perhaps comes as a result of the player’s talks with bigger clubs, and it appears as if Rafa Benitez is keen to land the talented forward. The Magpies could use his help as they have scored just 11 times in their 13 Premier League games this season, and have been replying on their stout defence to keep them above the drop zone.

Tosun has been in fine form for Besiktas, bagging 20 goals in the Turkish Super Lig last season, as well as netting five already in this campaign. His 10-goal season did represent the first time that the striker had passed the threshold, having never scored more than 13 league goals before last year.

Unfortunately for Newcastle, Besiktas president Fikret Orman is reportedly demanding £30m for his star player as a result of the interest from bigger clubs. Whether or not Benitez will be willing to match that figure remains to be seen, but he may have to act fast if he is to secure Tosun’s services.
